I have been practicing as a  pediatrician  for sixteen years now. I'm a pediatric generalist, which means I care for all healthy children and babies, including newborns. I also care for almost all children who fall sick. Surgical problems like injuries and burns are beyond me; they need a surgeon (the catgut and steel guys).

Qualifications

• MBBS (1984) from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
• MD(Pediatrics) (1988), also from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. This included a three year residency in pediatrics.

Work experience

• Senior resident in Bhatia General Hospital and HN General Hospital, Bombay, for a year.
• Full time pediatrician at Surat General Hospital, Surat for a year.
• Full time practice as a pediatrician since 1990.
• Established Mehta Childcare in 1990, a centre for the care of healthy as well as sick children. Moved to the current address in 1993.

Other

Served as President, The Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), Surat, in 1999.
Served as President, Perinatology Forum of Surat, 2002-2003.
Currently Editor, Bulletin of Infectious Diseases Chapter of IAP.
