Part of the difficulty stems from their inability to communicate. What does a crying baby actually want?

New mothers often have difficulty in determining what is normal for a baby, and what care is required by a healthy baby. The problem is compounded by the tons of advice she is subjected to, most of it unfounded, and some downright dangerous.
